Mr. sMiles
Miles turned 4 months on the 22nd of January and that chunky kid is still so laid back and happy! But I can't believe he's 4 months already. Miles loves baths and kicks his legs like a froggy while we bathe him.He still sleeps like a champ and eats like a monster.
He tolerates tummy time but loves to sit up supported and watch everyone, especially his big brothers.
Miles started eating some solids, but isn't very fond of baby cereal, he still prefers his formula to the baby food.
Miles loves to giggle at his brothers and laughs when we kiss on his neck. He talks A LOT! He coos and babbles all the time, especially when he's happy. Miles definitely knows who his mom and dad are and sometimes cries if held by someone he doesn't know too well. His favorite toy is a plastic ball with a bell inside that he can grip onto well and throw around the kitchen when in his highchair. He also prefers to be held and snuggled verses sitting in his bouncer, high chair, or jumperoo. I'm okay with that...but it does make cooking dinner slightly tricky.
Here are his 4 month stats:
Weight: 15.52 lbs (46th percentile)
Length: 25.5 in. (58th percentile)
Head Circumference: 17 in. (86th percentile)
Following after his brothers, the kid has a great big noggin! But it's quite an adorable noggin.
Jett Update
The month of January started out with some health issues for the poor kid. Jett went in for surgery again on the 2nd for his second set of tubes. Luckily it was just the tubes this time (and not the tonsils and adenoids like last time). The procedure is only 15 minutes long but they still had to put him out which is always nerve wracking for me. He actually did really well but his ears hurt a little for the rest of the day. The tubes are such a blessing seeing that for the month they were out in December, Jett got 2 ear infections. So who knows how long he'll have to have tubes, but it sure is nice not having to bring him in every month for an ear infection.
Then on the 4th, the poor kid got food poisoning from some bad chocolate milk from Texas Roadhouse. We were nervous he had gotten stomach flu and so we quarantined the house for a couple days until we realized that no one else was getting sick. So needless to say, the year didn't start out that great for Jett.
The rest of the month Jett enjoyed going to school and snowboarding. Dave's brother Dan came with us one evening to Sundance to help teach the boys how to snowboard. It was my first time in 5 years, so I didn't feel qualified to help teach, which was good because I ended up bruising my tailbone. Jett did pretty well for a 4 year old, but he did have a moment there where he threw a great big fit because his feet were cold, so Dave had to pick him up and snowboard down to the bottom and get him warmed up in the lodge. He did finally go again just he, Dave and Dan and that seemed to work best.
Cruise Update
Cruise also really enjoyed snowboarding this past month with Dave first at Snowbird and then with all of us at Sundance. Dave & I weren't thinking the first time and failed to give Cruise a social story as well as a set of rules, so he ended up thinking he could just fly down the mountain as fast as he wanted. So before going to Sundance, we prepped him and Dave made a great social story to help him understand the rules and what he needed to do. Cruise did really well with Dan's help and even let him use the hula hoop to keep him from flying down the mountain.
On the 30th, I got to throw a party at Cruise's school for the 100th day of school. I had them make 100th day glasses, one mom had them put together a trailmix of sorts of 10 different snacks (10 of 10 to make 100) and another mom had a game going to see how fast they can throw 100 balls into a large bin. The kids all had a lot of fun! I guess the 100th day of school is a BIG deal these days, so the whole day they do all sorts of games and activities surrounded around the number 100.
I also made Cruise a 100 day sandwich that his teachers got a kick out of so they took a picture of it.
This year, we set a goal to do Family Home Evening every week. It was always hard because Dave works evenings and so we could never do it Monday night. Since church this year is 9-12, we decided to have FHE in the evening on Sundays. So far we've done it every week and we're already seeing such a big difference and Cruise has been learning a lot more than he does just at church since we know how to teach him. So far we've had lessons on faith, the Plan of Salvation (two weeks in a row), and Baptism. But one week, after I had had enough of the pee covered bathrooms, we had an FHE on how to use the toilet when you pee. This is posted above every toilet in the house...unfortunately they still have trouble following all the steps. But they're getting better.

Great Post Em! Miles is getting so big and still adorable! Looks like the older boys had fun and are going to be natural snowboarders! Thanks for posting!
