Anyway, Dave set up the beignet fry station in the garage to keep the smell contained to outside. I am always the official beignet fryer because I love smelling like vegetable oil (kidding...if you couldn't tell). But for some reason I enjoy making them. I had paper bags of powdered sugar all ready and threw them into their bags as soon as I pulled them from the pot of oil. The boys made themselves sick and so did I, but that's what we do the last day of the year.
Then after hosing the kids down, we danced off the sugar to 90s hiphop. Always 90s hiphop. We had a dance-off as well, which I'm pretty sure Dave won. But the boys definitely brought it. Even Jett danced this year! I was so so so happy! Apparently, his awesome teacher has them get up and dance every day.Dave and I aren't as spry as we used to be. We are both out of shape and have zero excess energy. So we would sit and work on the puzzle every now and then to take a break. Luckily this allowed us to make some headway without Miles sitting by and throwing puzzle pieces at us. I actually bought this puzzle when I was about 8 months along with Miles since I would get bored not being able to move around a lot. I got pretty far but never finished it, so it went back into the box. It was fun to put it all together finally!
We finished the night off at 10 doing the King Julian Madagascar new year countdown on Netflix. Man, I love Netflix. Every parent's best friend. The boys went to bed a little after 10 and that was our new year party!
Stay tuned this next December for RAISED beignets!
