California Vacation: Day 5

Whew! Okay! Last day:

For the first time (and only time) on our vacation, we got to take it easy in the morning and not be in such a hurry. We promised the boys we'd go to the beach so we got everything ready and headed out to Seal Beach. We parked right in front of the shell shop where Jett got a sandcastle set, Miles got a shark puppet thing (see pictures), and Cruise got a sea turtle mood necklace. It was such a beautiful day and perfect for going to the beach.

This is Miles' second time to the beach but first time being able to play in the sand and water. At first he was a little unsure, but after assessing everything, he loved it!

We (I) took an insane amount of pictures.
Cruise & Jett had a blast playing in the water and trying to body surf. Jett learned quickly not to put the water in your mouth. Ha ha!
They also had a lot of fun finding sea shells and chasing birds.
Cruise finally got cold and headed for the sand to warm up. I sometimes wish we lived by the beach. Not only do I find that time stands still, but the kids just love every minute of it.
After a couple hours, we drove a few blocks to my parents' house where we met up with them and my sister Ruth and her family. The boys had fun playing with their cousins and eating lunch. And, once again, Mikey had fun being in charge of Miles.
That evening, my parents took us all to a wonderful ice cream shop where we filled up with all flavors of ice cream. It really was soooo good!
Miles doesn't eat ice cream.
After ice cream, my parents took us all to see The Peanuts Movie, which was really really cute. The boys loved it!

I was glad we got to spend our last day on the beach relaxing and hanging out with family. We left the next morning and it was once again stressful and exhausting. And, as predicted, Dave & I looked at each other, swore we'd never go on another family vacation again, and decided the next trip will be just the two of us. :-)

And that was our California Vacation!
