The Rest of April 2019

Nooo!!! I'm falling behind again...here's the rest of April!

Dave started up on his fly fishing again. He's been able to take a few friends out and has had fun teaching them and catching his own fish.

Miles really got into baseball in April and wanted us to pitch to him over and over again. He surprisingly is pretty good at baseball and if he still likes it next year, maybe I'll sign him up for city ball.

I got to attend the annual Autism Conference at UVU, and it was fantastic as always. Also in April was Cruise's IEP as well as his transition meeting for jr. high. Those were actually held together in one meeting. The meeting was almost 3 hours long and I was so grateful Dave came with me. At one point there were 9 of us sitting around the table trying to figure out what would be best for Cruise next year. I am so glad his teachers are amazing and really stepped up to help the people from Willowcreek Milddle understand who Cruise is and what he is capable of. The meeting went really well but my nerves were shot. Luckily Dave and I got to go on a date that evening and unwind. If you ever want to blow A LOT of money in less than an hour and find out you're terrible at golf, Top Golf is definitely the place to go! It was still fun though. My parents were in town that weekend and watched the kids at their hotel. Dave of course was hitting them left and right super far, while I was lucky to connect. HA HA! I really was terrible. But the food and company were pretty awesome. We stayed only about an hour and then had two and a half hours to kill, so we went home and watched Bumblebee until we had to pick the kids up from the hotel.

That was also Easter weekend. Miles had his Preschool Easter Egg hunt,
And then was the neighborhood hunt at Green Park on Saturday that we attended long enough to find eggs and then we were off to brunch with my parents and The Wilsons at Thanksgiving Point. Brunch was AMAZING. I have never seen so much food in one room. It was insane and there really was everything. It all tasted incredible. We all stuffed ourselves silly and then went home and napped.
Easter morning came and the boys got their baskets.
They each got flip flops, a tie for church, a book, a snorkel set, Lego mini figures, and then the usual Easter candy. Getting non-chocolate candy for Miles was a little harder than I thought it would be, but he seemed to be pretty happy with what he got. I still can't figure out why they don't make white chocolate bunnies. That would've been helpful.

For breakfast I made pancakes with all the toppings and homemade syrup, orange juice, and bacon.
This is Cruise pretending to be a bunny:
Then we took the annual "before church on Easter Sunday" picture. Don't worry, we eventually got to the dandelions.
After church, we had both our parents over for Easter dinner. I made a slow-roasted leg of lamb, mashed potatoes, roasted herb tri-colored carrots, a Greek salad, rolls, and Martinelli's. It turned out pretty fantastic. Dave's mom brought dessert, an applesauce cake, which was delicious.
Other stuff in April...

Dave made me some AMAZING crepes for breakfast one morning. Holy moly they were good!
We finally started sanding the dining room table. Miles really wanted to help.
We all went and saw the new (and last) Avengers movie in 3D (really good movie...suuuper long).
The boys learned about flint and steel and built a fire in the backyard.
And Miles, as usual, was silly.

The End.
